So millipedes belong to the large class of Myriapods having many legs the big ones that you know are centipedes having fewer legs than millipedes in general having about one leg pair per body ring whereas millipedes have two leg pairs per body ring so they're just leggier. So is there any credibility to centipedes having hundred legs and millipedes having a thousand legs? No. Centipedes just have fewer legs and I think that's what the name implies.
