I was able to walk out the gates of Bedford hills after 18 long years... and I thoughtthat I was okay–in there. I thought that I was as normal as normal can be, but theday that they opened that gate I realized... that I wasn't well. I, after being incarceratedfor 18 years it took me three hours to leave off those grounds. I just could not put onefoot in front of the other, go outside that gate.
