There are pros and cons to both public evaluations and private evaluations. Public school evaluations happen within your child's public school setting. They're free. You're able to seek that out. Every parent has the right to seek out a public evaluation from their child's public school system. The positive thing about that evaluation is not only that it's free, but also the people who are doing the evaluation may also be the same ones who are giving your child services after the evaluation.
